Weekend Wrap-up

It was a successful home opener weekend as the Coyotes earned 4 points in the
BCIHL standings with two wins. On Friday, the Coyotes came out blazing against the
SFU Clan and didn’t let up all night. The Coyotes won 4-1 with scoring from Sasha
Golin, Brock Munro, and Kelly Loudoun. Golin put the first point on the board with
a first period goal from Devin Gelowitz, then SFU’s Patrick Martin tied the game on
a penalty play in the beginning of the second period. Munro was quick to regain
the lead for the Coyotes with a shorthanded goal two minutes later. Kelly Loudoun
and Munro continued the scoring for the Coyotes in the third period to assert
victory. Adam Butler, who earned the second game star, was a force in the net as he
successfully saved 23 of the 24 shots he faced.

On Saturday, the Coyotes took on the Trinity Western University’s Titans. It was a
closer game than Friday’s but the Coyotes came out victorious again. After two early
power play goals from Titans, the Coyotes fired back with two goals in the second
and one in third to finish the game 3-2. Brady Mason, Josh Collins, and Brock Munro
all scored for the Coyotes.

Next Up: OCC at TWU – Saturday October 9th at 2pm.

Home Opener Weekend

The school year is off and running and now, so is Okanagan College hockey. This
weekend, the Coyotes will play their first home games of the season at Memorial
Arena in downtown Kelowna. On Friday, the team takes on the reigning BCIHL
champions, Simon Fraser University and on Saturday, Trinity Western University.

After the success of their inaugural season last year, the Coyotes were able to
secure a more central arena and earlier games times this season to make it more
convenient for our fans. Come out and kick off your weekend with some good
hockey and lots of fun! Also, there will be chances to win 2010/11 Coyote season
tickets at each game!

Game tickets can be purchased in advance for $5 at the college athletic office or for
$7 at the door. Season tickets will be for sale at the door for $50. And for all of you
Okanagan College students, for $10 you can get a ride to the game in the fan bus and
a ticket. The fan bus leaves from the dorms at 8:00pm.

Go Coyotes!!
