altThe Okanagan College Coyotes are pleased to announce that Sicamous Eagles forward Aaron Buat has committed to join the team for the 2010/11 British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League season.

Buat recently completed his junior hockey career with the Eagles and served as the team’s captain for the past two seasons. The Kelowna, BC product set a career high with 59 points in 50 games last season, good for 14th in scoring in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League. In 233 KIJHL games – all with Sicamous – Buat was a two-time all-star with 98 goals and 197 points.

“Aaron represents an excellent addition for the Coyotes program as we work towards icing a championship-calibre team in our second BCIHL season,” says Coyotes head coach Kim Barnstable. “We expect that Aaron will provide an immediate offensive boost to a talented returning group.”

“I’m excited to be joining the Coyotes and taking the next step in my education at Okanagan College,” says Buat. “I spent four great years in Sicamous and now I’m looking forward to learning from Coach Barnstable and contributing on a winning team.”

Buat represents the Coyotes’ first commitment for the 2010/11 season. The team will be looking to add to its recruiting class when they hold their Spring Camp at the Rutland Arena from June 10th to 14th. Camp information and registration details can be found  here.
